Check eligibility before the overseas price
Use e-Devlet’s registration-right inquiry before making a purchase. BTK’s device-registration guidance distinguishes the ordinary 120-day unregistered-use period from the 365-day period associated with the entry document for registration. These are different limits, not interchangeable promises of service. Your eligibility and any special circumstances should be checked through the official service.
Do not use an old fee as today’s fee
The BTK FAQ still contains a fee explicitly labelled for 2020. We do not treat that historical amount as a 2026 quote. Verify the applicable amount through the official payment and registration flow for the date you intend to register, then enter it into the calculator. Paying a fee alone does not complete device registration; check the result in the official IMEI registration service.
Write down the full comparison
- Exact overseas model, storage and outright checkout price.
- Actual card conversion rate and fees.
- Quoted net tourist refund, only if you qualify.
- Required registration and any other destination charges.
- Extra travel costs caused by the purchase.
- A dated Turkish offer for the equivalent device.
Check what the price does not describe
Verify regional SIM/eSIM support and your carrier before buying. Check service eligibility for the exact device: Apple’s warranty terms allow restrictions on iPhone service to the country where Apple or its authorised distributors originally sold it. Do not price an assumed worldwide warranty as if it were confirmed.
A useful decision test
Compare the no-refund overseas total with the Turkish offer first. Then compare the expected-refund total. If the remaining saving is small, an exchange-rate move, extra trip or unexpected service cost may remove it. That is a reason to improve the evidence before purchase, not to advertise a guaranteed saving.
