The lowest sticker price is only the first filter
A phone can look cheaper overseas and still cost more by the time you can use it at home. Start with the same model and storage. Compare an outright purchase with an outright purchase, then add checkout tax, card charges, import or registration costs and extra travel. Deduct only a refund you qualify for, after its processing fees.
Markets to investigate, not a price ranking

| Dubai / UAE | The FTA scheme requires eligible purchases and validation. Ask for the net refund quote instead of deducting all displayed VAT. |
| Singapore | Retailer participation in eTRS is voluntary. A GST-inclusive price does not prove that your store will issue a tourist refund. |
| EU countries | Eligible non-EU residents may claim a refund subject to export, documentation and national thresholds. Operator fees can reduce the amount. |
| Great Britain | Do not assume a tourist VAT refund on a phone carried home in luggage. GOV.UK distinguishes direct export delivery from Northern Ireland’s separate rules. |
Build two totals
Calculate both a confirmed checkout cost with no refund and an expected cost with the quoted net refund. If the purchase only makes sense after an uncertain refund, that dependency belongs in your decision. A second useful comparison excludes travel you would have taken anyway but includes any detour or trip made for the phone.
For use in Turkey
Check registration eligibility and IMEI costs before paying. A price advantage is not useful if the device cannot be registered for your situation.
